Title Tip – Subdivision Plats and Parcel Splits
Crow Wing County announces some deadline changes – Subdivision Plats and Parcel Splits
Last year (2010) Crow Wing County had announced some new deadlines for recording subdivision plats and parcel splits. Based on the results of those changes, they have modified them again. I will pass these most recent changes along to you – so you can use them in your personal planning. This information is directly from the office of the County Auditor-Treasurer.
Parcel Splits will now be accepted for transfer at the Auditor-Treasurer’s office through the last business day of the year.
Subdivision Plats that are to be recorded before the end of the year should be submitted for processing prior to December 15th. If they are submitted after that time, the Recorders office will not insure they will be completed in that calendar year.
Also, as many are already aware, any subdivision plat or parcel split that is to be recorded MUST have current year taxes paid in full before the subdivision plat or split can be accepted for recording. This is per State Statute. (So, even if you are recording a simple property split in February of this year, the full year taxes for that property must be paid in full for the entire year, before the split will be accepted for recording.) Additionally, if paying any such taxes on or after December 15, certified funds are required.
So please put this information into your planning – if you have a parcel split or subdivision plat planned for this year.
